Horse Drawn Carriages?
Most
couple’s dream of a fairy tale wedding, part of that dream is a
horse drawn carriage to take you to the church and to send you
off to your reception. But before you spend your budget on a
horse drawn carriage there are some things you should consider.
Below is a list of Pro’s and Con’s to using a horse drawn
carriage for your wedding day.
Pro’s
- An
opportunity to take life a little slower and enjoy the day.
- As a
horse and carriage will take longer to arrive at your
wedding venue, this will give you time to gain composure and
relax a little before you arrive for the ceremony.
- Living
up to the dream of horse drawn carriage.
-
Something different making the day extra special. Most of
us travel in a car every day, but very few in a horse drawn
carriage.
- When
your ceremony has finished and you are taken to your
reception you will have more time with husband / wife before
you join the hustle and bustle of drinks, dancing, food,
speeches, and general talk with friends and family.
- Choose
a convertible carriage if you are expecting nice weather on
your wedding day.
Con’s
- Can
take longer to get to your destination with a horse drawn
carriage, so if you are running to a tight time schedule the
horse drawn carriage wouldn’t be the best option.
- A horse
drawn carriage generally costs more.
- If it
is a cold day you will get cold in the carriage as opposed
to a car
- If the
day is very hot, there is no air con in a horse drawn
carriage
- A
car will give a smoother ride
Choosing a Photographer
A photographer needs to know and
understand every aspect of a wedding, and particularly your
wedding. A good photographer will ask about times, places and
people. It is important to find the photographer with the
experience and style that suits what you want in your
photographs. Like as any art, you would not buy a Monet if you
like Dali. Photographers are artists, artists with light and
composition. Think about the style you want your photo's to
take, traditional posed shots or reportage style. Also ask your
photographer about different albums, if they include a disc for
you to reprint yourself, if not, it will extend the cost. Visit
a photographers web site to see their style of work. Also ask
your photographer if they have photographed any weddings in your
chosen location before, if they have, this will increase the
chance that the photographer will be able to deliver quality
photographs. Always get quotes from more than one photographer,
and don't be scared to barter for the best deal.
